In Hawaii, it is referred to as Hawaiian Pidgin. In Cameroon Pidgin is referred to as Cameroonian pidgin. There is Ghanaian pidgin, south African pidgin, Nigerian Pidgin, etc.
However, Nigerian pidgin is one of the most popular pidgin in the world.
This might owe to the fact that Nigeria is the most populous black Nation in the world with over 70million people speaking pidgin language.
The Nigerian music industry has also played a great role in exportation of Nigerian Pidgin to the world. With international artists like Davido, Salem Egoh, Tuface Idibia, Wizkd, etc, singing with Nigerian Pidgin.
A lot of new slangs are coined by these artist and are used to make worldwide hit songs. This has brought Nigerian pidgin to the spotlight.
